Telehealth Counselor – Remote (Part Time)

That is why the International Association of Fire Fighters partnered with Advanced Recovery Systems: for a place that will provide care and treatment for substance abuse, PTSD, and other co-occuring behavioral health issues. The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.

Advanced Recovery Systems is an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to the treatment of addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders and mental health issues. We put behavioral health front and center, providing assistance to people with substance abuse issues, addictions and mental health concerns.

This is remote position working out of your own home.

USD $34.00/Hr.

The Clinician is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the Clinical Director. Clinician will be responsible for patient caseload and will provide group, individual, and family therapy. Clinician will conduct psychosocial and bio-psychosocial assessments. Clinician will collaborate with the Treatment Team to formulate the Master Treatment Plan, and assist in coordinating discharge planning. The Clinician has primary responsibility for maintaining communication with the family, referral source and other service providers as needed.

Core Job Duties

+ Provides excellent individual, family and group therapy to assigned patients following program curriculum provided by Clinical Director

+ Completes all required documentation ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulations, Joint Commission standards and Medical Needs Criteria. This includes the following documents:

+ Biopsychosocial Assessment

+ Integrated Summary

+ Comprehensive Problem List

+ Integrated Master Treatment Plan and Updates

+ Individual, family and group therapy session notes

+ Discharge summary

+ Effectively uses therapeutic interventions to assist patients with accomplishing all treatment plans goals and objectives and successfully complete treatment

+ Effectively prepares patient for maintaining sobriety post discharge

+ Maintain referent contact weekly or as required by Clinical Director

+ Demonstrates sufficient comprehension of the 12 Steps, SMART Recovery and Substance Use Disorders

+ Consistently identifies areas for impreovment within the department by studying data and developing, implementing and documenting plans for improvement and outcomes

Other Required Tasks:

+ Maintains positive relationships with all staff

+ Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews

+ Maintains healthy boundaries with patients and staff

+ Asks for and accepts feedback from supervisors

+ Provides a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients

+ Communicates significant patient developments to supervisor

+ Participates in Quality Improvement activities and contribute to the success of the organization

+ Pursues professional development through participation in education and training programs

+ Contributes positively to the morale of other staff members

+ Performs other tasks, as assigned

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Advanced Recovery Systems requires all employees who work in any facility or office to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated.

+ Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field

+ Bachelor's Degree with appropriate licensure / certification as per State regulations

+ At least two (2) years of clinical experience in mental health field (additional training may substitute for one year

+ Licensed in the State of VA with one of the following:

LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)

LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical)

LCMFT (Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist)



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

+ Demonstrates proficiency in communication and written skills

+ Knowledge of State and Federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws

+ Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards
