Student completing final semester of an AMA accredited educational program for Respiratory Care. Strong interpersonal, clinical problem solving, team building and communication skills.
Must work well under stressful situations. Graduates of an AMA accredited educational program for Respiratory Care are required to obtain the credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) within 90 days of their hire date.
They are also required to submit proof to the respiratory care department of license applied for as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation within 90 days of their hire date.
The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential and proof of license applied for within 90 days of hire date is a condition of continued employment. Failure to meet this requirement will result in termination of employment.
Current BLS Healthcare provider.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
The Student Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering respiratory care procedures and modalities according to the department scope of service to patients in designated coverage areas within the facility.
Under physician direction, the Student Respiratory Therapist must be able to adapt and comply to policies and procedures for a variety of different service areas, perform tasks and/or special duties as required by assignment and maintain performance standards and behaviors of excellence at all times.
