The Outpatient PA possesses extensive knowledge and competence, complex decision-making, critical thinking, mentoring activities, and evidenced based practice. The PA is a clinical expert who provides high standard of care to patients in the outpatient setting with chronic illnesses via face-to-face or telehealth on communication devices such as phone or computer in collaboration with supervising/attending physician(s). The PA is responsible for medical diagnosis and treatment, prescribing, educating and mentoring new members of the health care team. The PA performs approved procedures as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges (DOP). Works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the health system. The PA integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into scope of practice. May also lead research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice. The PA drives implementation of change, initiates quality assessments, and utilizes leadership skills to strengthen clinical practice and healthcare delivery. The PA produces high patient satisfaction, less use of ED, sees patients more frequently to reduce hospital admissions.
Degrees: Bachelors Licenses Certifications: Physician Assistant NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant Drug Enforcement Administration Additional Qualifications: 5 years of APP experience required. Maintains medical staff credentialing and privileges. Master degree preferred. Compliant with state requirements for CME and licensure renewal. DEA License required as per specialty. BLS/ACLS required as per specialty. New employees hired at Level II, must complete the portfolio requirements within one year. National Certification. Minimum Required Experience:
