Position Requirements:
Graduate from accredited AARC program
3~5 years lead or supervisory experience
5~7 years clinical experience

Current RRT and licensure in State of Illinois
CPR certification
ACLS Certification
BLS Certification
PALS Certification
NRP Certification
Appropriate clinical skills
Good communication skills
Strong human relation skills
Ability to work weekends, off shifts and holidays, dependent upon departmental needs
Ability to work in a fast~paced environment with established time constraints
May be exposed to hazardous materials / diseases
Requires flexibility to deal with changing environment
Displays ability to work and function independently
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To coordinate and monitor Respiratory Care Services at hospital in order to provide the highest quality care and services in the most cost effective manner possible. Responsibilities include accountability for day~to~day supervision of assigned shift(s), performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with Physician orders and department standards and policies. To collaborate with medical staff and Clinical Manager to provide defined services.

Accountabilities:
Assists manager in monitoring and implementing Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives (Performance Improvement).
Establishment of a climate of team building and peer support and respect.
Documentation and communication of care, medication and observations made during care of patient in order to track responsiveness and health of patient.
Education of patients and their families
Responsible for the maintenance of efficient and effective department operations.
Coordination of the selection process in conjunction with Clinical Manager. Responsible for monitoring and assessing staff developmental needs to ensure competence.
Collaboration with Clinical Manager in the development, implementation, and maintenance of professional growth for self and staff.
Responsible for monitoring of departmental budget, in collaboration with Clinical Manager.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency guidelines and standards of care in conjunction with the Clinical Manager.
Assessment of Patient's respiratory needs through information provided by physicians, observations, nursing services and other health care workers to develop respiratory treatment plan.
Administers medication and therapeutic measures prescibed by physicians.
